Coma-ruga is part of the coastal municipality of Vendrell. It was built around a seaside town that no longer exists, although some other towns appeared during the 20th century. It features a familiar beach bordering Sant Salvador and Francàs Neighbourhoods.
This is a quiet and sought-after area for the purchase and sale of properties in Baix Penedès due to the fact that it is the birthplace of the well-known violin player Pau Casals. He used to play in San Salvador Church, where he also made his debut, a neoclassical building dated back to the 18th century. Moreover, there is the museum of dramatist Àngels Guinerà in his old family house, located in this municipality.
